RawDisk™ - Direct access to disks and protected files from user-mode applications in Windows

RawDisk library offers software developers direct access to files, disks and partitions of the disks (hard drives, flash disks etc.) for user-mode applications, bypassing security limitations of Windows® operating systems.

Benefits

Access raw disk data in Windows 7, Vista and Windows XP

RawDisk allows you to implement an application accessing Windows 7, Windows Vista or XP disk directly. The sectors can be read or written from user-mode processes, thus going around direct access ban imposed by the operating systems.

Ignore file locking and security restrictions

RawDisk allows access to files that are already opened or have restricted access security setting. This significantly simplifies implementation of backup applications.

Read or write disk sector by sector

Ability to write and read disks sector by sector without operating-system-imposed restrictions comes in handy for development of data recovery, undelete and forensic applications.
